How Nourii uses AI

Nourii uses selected AI-assisted features to interpret input and suggest practical next steps. AI supports the experience; it does not replace your judgment or professional care.

1. AI's role in Nourii

Nourii combines app rules, stored user information, and selected Google Gemini-backed services. AI may help turn an image or natural-language description into an editable estimate, assist with plan-related suggestions, or summarize patterns into a short, non-medical insight.

Nourii does not claim to provide a fully autonomous AI coach. Availability can differ by feature and product version, and an AI response should never be treated as guaranteed fact.

2. Where AI-assisted processing may appear

Meal photo interpretation

Suggests foods, portions, calories, and macros from an image for you to review.

Voice meal logging

Interprets a spoken meal description or transcript and prepares editable food entries.

Personalized planning

Uses relevant onboarding and preference context to support meal-plan suggestions.

Pattern insights

Uses summarized context to suggest a practical, non-medical next step.

Standard account, storage, analytics, and interface functions are not automatically AI features simply because they appear in Nourii.

3. Information an AI feature may process

The information depends on the feature you actively use and may include:

  • A meal image submitted for food recognition.
  • A voice transcript or meal description submitted for logging.
  • Relevant onboarding answers, goals, dietary preferences, allergies, and routine.
  • Summarized meal, activity, plan, or personalization context.
  • Your prompt, feedback, and the generated response.

Nourii should send only the context needed for the requested feature. The final data- minimization rules and field-by-field mappings require launch verification.

4. Provider and server-side processing

The reviewed backend uses Google Gemini for selected AI calls. Provider credentials remain on the server rather than shipping inside the mobile app. Supabase backend services are used to coordinate app data, functions, and storage around those requests.

This launch-review page does not claim that provider-submitted data is never retained or never used for model improvement. Those statements depend on verified contracts, account configuration, and provider terms. Processing locations and international-transfer safeguards also need confirmation in the final Privacy Policy.

5. You review the result

AI output is an editable estimate

Check identified foods, ingredients, serving size, calories, macros, cost, and plan fit before saving or acting on a result. Correcting the output is an expected part of the experience, not an exceptional case.

A generated answer is not independently verified by a Nourii employee before it reaches you. You are the immediate reviewer. Product feedback may later be reviewed by authorized staff under an approved support and privacy process.

6. Known limitations

  • An image may hide ingredients, preparation method, oil, sauce, or portion size.
  • Speech recognition may misunderstand a food, quantity, accent, or language.
  • Nutrition databases and restaurant recipes may differ from the food you consumed.
  • Budget estimates may not reflect local prices, taxes, availability, or substitutions.
  • Personalized suggestions may miss context that was not provided or was inferred wrongly.
  • AI output can be inconsistent even when similar information is submitted.

7. Health, allergy, and safety boundaries

Nourii provides general wellness support, not diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care. AI output does not replace advice from a doctor, registered dietitian, pharmacist, or another qualified professional.

Never rely on AI to confirm allergen safety

A photo or description cannot reliably reveal every ingredient or cross-contact risk. Verify labels and preparation directly, and follow the advice of your healthcare team.

8. Controls, corrections, and feedback

You can choose whether to submit a photo or voice description, review an estimate before saving, edit the result, use manual entry instead, manage device permissions, and contact support about a result or privacy concern.

The current audit found that AI-personalization and usage-tracking controls are not yet reliable enough to describe as complete opt-outs: defaults are enabled and the backend may reject disabling certain settings. Those behaviors must be corrected or accurately defined before launch. No contrary control promise is made here.

9. What must be verified before launch

  • Final AI provider terms, retention, model-improvement use, and processing regions.
  • Exact data fields sent by each AI-assisted feature and minimization rules.
  • Consent, personalization, analytics, and opt-out behavior across app and backend.
  • Meal-image access controls, public-delivery configuration, and deletion cleanup.
  • Safety testing, incident handling, feedback review, and age-appropriate safeguards.

Questions or feedback can be sent to support@nourii.ai. Do not include passwords, authentication codes, meal photos, voice recordings, or detailed health information in a general support email.
